The Caliente ladies dish out their usual romantic escapades.
Bonus losta cats!
Their new home in Pleasantly Thriving is so luxurious!
Dina can't help but admire the view.
The balcony's a good place to think about Michael.
After a lazy morning around the house, the women decide to take a quick trip to the grand opening of Pleasantview's H&M.
...where all hell breaks loose.
Dina: Well if it isn't my favorite silver haired fox. 😉
Herb: *grumble* lucky guy, geez...if I had money...
Meanwhile, Cassandra quickly finds her mom talking with some friends in the lounge area of the store.
Cassandra: That hussy is here!! All over dad, in public none-the-less, showing her true colors.
Infuriated, Bella stomped across the busy
store, on the look out for her estranged husband. Their
relationship was at a rocky point, their children growing up, elderhood
looming so close. She had needed time on her own. She had heard rumors
of his flights with other women, maybe she'd also pursued some romantic
rendezvouses outside their marriage, so she'd overlooked it all.
BUT THIS.
At
the most public event this town had hosted in months, with their family
in attendance, he would allow that gold digging tramp to humiliate her!
He was hers, always had been and always would be, no matter what. She'd
just have to show her that.
Mortimer: Pick out anything you like, Dina! It's a big day, you deserve to be spoiled.
Dina: Oh Morty, you don't need to do anything like that for me...we really just popped in for a look.
Mortimer: I insist! How about that pretty red dress there, I've always had a weakness for women in re-
Bella: 💋💋💋
Dina: This one? Eh, I don't know if...
Dina: EXCUSE ME??
Mortimer: Uh...well, I just...and then, well um, her mouth and...
Bella: What's the matter Miss Caliente? If you don't like the sight of a woman showing her HUSBAND affection, then you know the way to the door.
Dina: Oh nooo you old hag, your husband has long since moved on to a younger, SLIMMER, model. Keep your pathetic attempts to reclaim your glory days away from MY MAN.
Mortimer: No-now Dina, pl-please no need to-to use such ugly insults now...
At this, Pleasantview's residents moved a little closer to the action. The Goths were always a point of conversation in town, with their recent separation being big news.
Bella: YOU'RE JUST GOING TO STAND THERE AND LET HER ACT LIKE THIS MORTIMER? REALLY?? Fine, I'm heading home! Do not call me!!
Mortimer: *panicking* Ladies, ladies, let's take a breath and maybe move this discussion to the mansion? Dina! Dina...come back!
Brandi was scandalized in the aftermath. 😆
Later that night, Dina practiced at the keys to drown out the sound of Mortimer blowing up her phone. After her anger finally dissipated, she felt the full extent of her embarrassment and disappointment. She thought they'd had a real connection. But was she just rebound?
Nina: OH PLEASE STOP, you're terrible!!
Dina: Can't hear your never wavering support over my beautiful music.
To help cope with her break from Mortimer, Dina adopted Izzie.
She's a feisty wittle thang. 😼
The next night, Don invited Nina to a "friendly" little trip to Pleasantview's new resort spot.
Things began heating up before they'd even reached the door.
Don felt closer to Nina than anyone else, had since the moment they met. They understood eachother.
In a way the woman he loved, never could.
Cassandra: AGAIN DON? AGAIN???
At her screech, Nina had gave him a "sucks to be you" expression and went to their room.
Cassandra: YOU...YOU DOG DON LOTHARIO YOU WORTHLESS GOOD FOR NOTHING DOG I GIVE YOU MY HEART AND FOR WHAT??? HOW DUMB DO YOU THINK I AM??? AND WITH A DISGUSTING CALIENTE OF ALL OF PEOPLE DON
At the usual string of insults that can only come from a brokenhearted rant, Don felt horrible. He always did. He loved her. He didn't know why he was like this. He deserved every bit of hate from her, and she deserved better than him.
Don: Please, don't talk about her like that...
Cassandra: WHAT
Don: You're right, you're always right, my rose. You're my everything. I hurt you. I love you. But please, none of this is Nina's fault.
Cassandra: ARE-ARE YOU DEFENDING THAT-THAT
DON WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING???
Most nights, he would have followed her home, tail between his legs, begging her back. Not that night though. This night belonged to Nina.
Nina: Well I'm surprised to see you here...did the old ball and chain actually let you loose for a night?
Don: Pah, heck no!
Nina: Wow, that's a happy response for a "nothing-without-her" kinda man.
Don quietly left the water and wrapped her in his arms.
Don: Tonight, I'm nothing without you.
💕
Back at home...
Nina: Oh plumbob Dina! -urk - I know you're having some - urk - kinda breakdown! But this is - urk - so nasty!!!
(Layla spotting! 😍)
Don became a regular around the Caliente abode. With Cassandra shooting him the longest and coldest shoulder, he suddenly had a lot more time on his hands.
He felt at home. This was the first place he could truly be himself.
He even spent some time helping Dina recover from the Mortimer fiasco... 😏
But he was mostly found in Nina's bed. She could care less who he fooled around with, she got it, she was the same way. What mattered was he was her best friend. And even more than that...
Nina: Don...
Don: Mmm, yes, hot stuff?
Nina: I'm pregnant.
Don's smile slowly melted from his face. Wait, a-a baby? He wasn't father material! This had been all fun and games, he'd never guessed that...and Cassandra. His love. This would destroy her.
Nina: I know how you feel. It's hitting me hard too. Take your time. I think we both need some space. And...and I'm sorry.
Don: Oh no, no, no please don't be sorry. This is all my fault. Oh plumbob what are we gonna do?
Nina: How about...for now...we hold eachother. I'm exhausted. And maybe, for the first time ever, I could actually use some cuddles.
Dina's heart belonged to Izzie, that cat had been the driving force in pushing her out of the dark head space the breakup had left her in.
She just had to bring home a mate for her best friend! Meet Bingo. 😺
Dina had barely heard from Don since that night. She hadn't pressured him. They were both overwhelmed. She was doing okay by herself. Probably a lot better than if she'd had to take care of both of them through this mess.
But she couldn't stop the rumors swirling around her growing stomach, even if she stayed mostly inside and worked out constantly. It wasn't long before Cassandra's harassment of them got worse.
The saddest part was that she felt terrible for the girl. She was a pathetically romantic sap, a 50s dream, but Nina couldn't imagine the pain she was feeling.
Like all times she was stressed, Nina focused on working out. Maybe too much.
With the baby coming soon, Dina moved down to the basement.
She liked being with her kitty loves anyway.
Who knew the wild and worldly socialite Miss Dina Caliente would become such a reclusive crazy cat lady? She thought idly. Life is weird.
😻!!
